About the Project
Ernest Eric Newton was an etcher, engraver and wood engraver. He trained in printmaking techniques at The Royal College of Art, where he met his friend and contemporary, Geoffrey Wedgwood. As a young man he worked in etching with Griggs at Chipping Campden during the 1920’s. Extremely few of E.E.Newton’s rare printed works were ever issued in any form of published edition and all are now scarce. We scanned, photographed and digitally restored Ernest Eric Newton’s works and built a website to showcase his art and tell his story. We also provide website hosting.
